Hastings  Wrestling 2022-2023 GUIDELINES AND PROCEDURES

Wrestling at Hastings Wrestling Facility will follow all safety protocols from MDH, MSHSL and USA Wrestling.

We appreciate your patience each year as we finalize the wrestling schedule. The schedule will be based on a variety of factors including registrations, and COVID safety, among others. At this time we are only providing  for practice times that may change, We will finalize the schedule when  we can make the best decisions for the team and our wrestlers.    The Calendar provided is subjected to change all info will be located on our calender on the website please check often as things may change   .

     :PLEASE READ FULL DESCRIPTION FOR EACH SEASON OPTION:

    * FULL SEASON Option Nov 10th 2022-March 20th 2023-$200

    Includes: Two piece shirt and shorts uniform package, State& Gopher National tournament Prep and Coaching at State tournament , 2-3 practices a week, 1-2 Club tournaments a month with coaching,   Year End Pizza Party, Possible Team options Available (but not Guaranteed

 (ALL WRESTLERS WILL STILL NEED TO QUALIFY FOR STATE TO ATTEND MN USA STATE)

    *HALF SEASON Option Nov 11th'22-January 12h'23 -  $100               (NO STATE OR National TOURNAMENT INTEREST )

Includes: 2 practices a week, 1-2 Club tournaments a month with coaching , Year End Pizza Party .

    Half season wrestlers are Building and looking to gain Confidence and build technique during the season & practice, Club tournaments (all tournaments are OPTINAL)

       * The uniform Package is available for purchase during registration  if your wrestler is doing half season option for $30. 

     *SESSION TIMES ARE DETERMAIED BY GRADE not season.

   SESSION ONE: Pre-K-1st Grade 6:00pm-7:00pm                               

Tue & Thursday Nov 11th - Jan 27th 2023 ( any wrestlers doing full season will move to session two Jan 17th 2023)

  SESSION TWO: 2nd - 4th Grade 6:00pm-7:30pm

    TUESDAY & THURSDAY Nov 10th - March 20th 2023

(ONLY Wrestlers doing full season will continue after January 12th 2023

  * all calendars and session times are subject to change Jan 1st 2023

     *ALL FULL SEASON WRESLTERS Practice TIMES MAY CHANGE Starting January .

DIBS: Each Family is required to do 2 concessions PER WRESTLER. Hastings wrestling WILL BE COLLECTING 200$ DIBS CHECKS PER WRESTLER BEFORE THEY WILL BE ALLOWED IN PRACTICE .   *Questions on this please reach out .

Where: Hastings Wrestling High School Wrestling Room

Health and Safety for Athletes: 

1. No signs or symptoms of COVID-19 in the past 14 days 
   1.  If an athlete has had a case of documented COVID-19 infection, athlete needs a note from his/her doctor indicating athlete is cleared to participate in training 
2. No close sustained contact with anyone who is sick or individuals that may have been exposed to COVID-19 within 14 days of beginning group training 

3.  If an athlete has been required by the School District or Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) to quarantine or is not allowed to attend school, the athlete should not be attending practice.  This would include if the athlete is sick or if a family member/sibling is sick.

4. Parents agree to monitor their athlete before each practice for symptoms of COVID-19 that could indicate that they are not well.  If any COVID-19 symptoms are present or they are exposed to a person with COVID-19, you will keep the athlete home and follow the MDH’s recommendations for quarantine.

5. If you feel sick STAY HOME!  If coaches think you are ill prior to or during practice the wrestler will be sent home. 
6. Parents are discouraged from staying at practices, but if they must stay, they must remain socially distanced from athletes, coaches, and other parents.

7. The use of face coverings/masks are not required.

8.  Wrestlers bring your own water bottles. Wrestlers are to use hand sanitizer located in the wrestling facility or brought from home prior to practice and before leaving the wrestling facility to go home.  

 

COACHING:

1. Coaches will follow all direction from the Hastings Wrestling Club COVID-19 Preparedness Plan
2. Wrestling room will be cleaned immediately after practice.  Mats and equipment will be washed or sprayed with cleaner.
3. Between practices coaches will disinfect the wrestling mats and any equipment used. 

REQUIRED:

Wrestlers must wear wrestling/athletic shoes, athletic shorts/pants, and a t-shirt during practice.

Hastings Wrestling Strongly Encourages every wrestler to be licensed by USA Wrestling for all programs.  You have two options for purchasing a license. This is for the safety of your athlete.
